Data Engineering Consultant
About this role:
The Data Engineering Consultant will be part of a highly collaborative team responsible for acquiring, curating, and publishing data for analytical or operational uses. In this role you will have the opportunity to work with various modern data platform technologies and programming languages.
What you will be working on:

Analyzing moderate to complex end to end data requirements and existing business processes to lead in the design, development, and implementation of data products.

Building Relational and Dimensional data models to support the operation and development of enterprise data warehouses.

Designing and developing moderate to complex ETL pipelines.

Designing and implementing data security methodologies and best practices.
-
Performing database refactoring and optimizations in order to meet performance requirements and SLAs.

Practicing code management and integration with Git and other practice repositories.

Assisting with the adoption and implementation of industry standards and best practices.

Documenting systems including data standards, procedures, and definitions for data dictionaries.

Participating in and contributing towards team solutions for data analysis, architecture, application design, coding, and testing practices.
Your relevant skills and experience:
-
2+ years of Professional Experience.
-
Strength in data platform core competencies such as SQL, data modeling, data engineering, and data warehousing.

Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL or similar.

Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, or similar.
-
Experience using modern data platforms like Snowflake, MongoDB or similar.

Experience using JSON / XML.

Experience with at least one Object Oriented Programming language, such as, Python, C++.

Experience working with cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure.

Experience with Data Visualization tools such as Looker, PowerBI, Sisense, and Tableau.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM environment.

Willingness to learn new skills and technologies, accept constructive feedback, and work independently.
